    Raised in Sioux City, Iowa
    He and his wife, Heather, were married in the Harvard Memorial Church on August 21, 1993, in Cambridge, Massachusetts
    He and his wife of 11 years have four young children
    Ironman triathlete - including the Florida Ironman and the Coeur d'Alene Ironman
    Marathon runner - 5 marathons, including the Pike's Peak Marathon twice
    Trains and competes in judo (gold medallist, 1999 Sunflower Games, heavy-weight black-belt division) and various other martial arts
    Certified Open Water SCUBA diver
